Tuesday’s Table

So, my goal is to post a little collection of  inspiration on Tuesdays. Why? Because it’s no longer Monday and I am happy. The plan is to combine the old with the new & showcase some of my latest shopping finds along with a few handmade goodies. Real photos. All from my favorite farm table.

This gathering was inspired by romantic neutrals- pink champagne, beige, and natural white. With these colors, I cannot help but include doilies, lace, feathers, and anything else girly to rev of the romanticism.

The monogram tea cup is from Anthro (of course) and the distressed frame a Wisteria gift. I am obsessed with the over-sized spools of string which I purchased from my FAV, Laurie Anna’s Vintage Home, just a few weeks ago. All other elements are either vintage flea market finds (small frame and flower pin) or made by yours truly (burlap pouch, rose and pearl brooch, over-sized fabric flower, & paper elements). Enjoy!

A Salute to Jennifer & Randall

It is always so exciting to work with a bride who thinks outside of the box and has fresh ideas for her wedding! Randall is a Captain in the Army and is currently serving our country in Iraq. As a tribute to her fiance and their super fun personalities, Jennifer wanted to incorporate military elements into the vintage look of her save the date. Jennifer and Randall are such amazing people I could not help but be inspired to create something totally unique and memorable for the couple.

Don’t forget to check back in to see more of Jennifer & Randall’s fun ideas reflected on paper……invitations to come!

Get with the Program!

When designing the programs for my wedding, I started with the must have elements: Burlap. Stitching. Vintage patterned paper.  The design evolved from there and the final product turned out to be the perfect memento for our garden wedding. Keep reading for a brief how-to!

To make, I began by printing 2 pages per sheet, front and back. By printing 2 pages per sheet, I was able to save a ton of paper and reduce the overall cost of the project.  I then followed up by cutting each sheet directly down the center margin with my paper cutter. For the back cover, I used recycled Kraft cardstock and a collection of different vintage patterned papers for the front cover.  The final layer was a piece of scalloped edge burlap fabric, which tied in perfectly with burlap cones filled with hydrangeas we used for the aisle decor. To hold all of  the individual layers together, I machine sewed down the left margin with a running stitch in a chocolate brown thread.

My Wedding

My husband and I were married on a beautiful day in September at the Aldredge House in the Historic Swiss Avenue District. Every detail of the wedding was inspired by a passion for vintage design and shabby elegance. In order to stay within our budget and to personalize things as much as possible, we incorporated DIY projects throughout and limited the guest list to include only our family and closest friends.
