Lisa + Joe: Wedding Invitation Suite

Lisa and Joe. Quite simply one of the sweetest, most adorable couples…ever. Creating their wedding invitations was a lovely road of design bliss. Wanting to keep with the theme from their save the date, we incorporated some of the same elements, such as the custom flourish design which is engraved on each side of Lisa’s ring. The end result was classic, fresh and simply divine.
Thank you Lisa and Joe!

My Vintage Master Bedroom Makeover: Before and After

Everyone has a space, nook or cranny in their home that they feel is left unfinished…or just needs major help. For me, this space was my master bedroom. After we celebrated our one year anniversary, I felt it was the perfect time to take control of the matter and transform our bedroom into a space that we could enjoy. I immediately consulted my friend and interior design blogger, Emily Hewett of A Well Dressed Home, for the makeover. We brainstormed ideas of how to redo the room in a dramatic way without spending a ton of money. We were able to accessorize most of the room by just pulling things I had crammed in my closets and garage (ever seen that show “Hoarders?”) then after a trip to Laurie Anna’s in Canton, a stop or two at Home Goods, and several DIY projects, my Anthropologie inspired vision came to life!

Check out the before’s. Could be worse I know, but it was just dull and boring. I wanted something major.

So here it is! The transformation:

My DIY projects for the room began with painting the walls a light grey-blue color and replacing the baseboards followed by building the oversized shadow box frame for our wishing tree tags and reupholstering the wingback chair. Obviously the most extravagant project was covering the back wall in vintage book pages, which Emily and I took on.  I promise to follow up with step by step instructions for each DIY project soon!

Thank you Emily for your help and design expertise and to oh so talented Misti at Pink Fly Photography for taking the amazing photos!

A Marriage of Sorts: Lace Chair meets Invitation

When flipping through the latest issue of Country Living Magazine, the “Decorating with Lace” feature caught my eye…in particular, a linen chair from Ethan Allen.  So inspired by the feminine lace details and tailored structure of the chair, I had a thought:  What if this chair were a wedding invitation? I couldn’t help myself and created my interpretation of the chair- a textured lace invitation with matching doily envelope.

This project was way too much fun and proof one can find inspiration in anything!  So should I make a “A Marriage of Sorts” a new re-occuring post? Share your thoughts!

Ashley + Lou: Save the Date

New custom save the date design for Ashley and Lou who are getting married in Philadelphia this summer! Ashley had found the perfect inspiration for the invitation, which was a fabulous, limited edition vintage concert poster. The design incorporates their wedding day colors of  bright pink and slate grey as well as their custom profile silhouettes. I love the clean, vintage-mod style of this invitation…it just might be one of my favorites. Thanks so much Ashley and Lou and I cannot wait to begin on the wedding invitations!

Vipula and Andrei: Wedding Invitation

These beauties were custom created for lovebirds Vipula and Andrei who are tying the knot this January in Dallas, Texas. Simply gorgeous!

The invitation is layered in luxury with rich, bold colors and a cherry blossom patterned band and red ribbon trim.  We choose a 3 panel pocket enclosure in metallic gold to hold the invitation, RSVP and information card and topped it off with a monogram tag on the front. Congratulations to the bride and groom and thank you so much for being a joy to work with!

Vintage Circus Baby Shower Invitation

How much fun is this??  I love vintage circus/carnival typography and graphics so when asked to create a baby shower invitation with this theme, I was thrilled. Oh the possibilities! We wanted the invitation to be “baby shower appropriate” but still chic with an authentic, vintage feel. I referred to some historical circus posters and advertisements for inspiration and the final product came out simply adorable. Thank you Miranda and congratulations Mommy-to-be Eleanor!

Tristan + Matt: Save the Date & Engagement Session

LOVE this couple and their save the date turned out to be the perfect sneak peek of what’s to come at their April wedding. For the design we began with a blush, ivory and black palette that the bride adores and all of the other elements developed from there…with a dedication to incorporate vintage touches and as much personalization as possible.

Every part of the invitation was custom created for this couple- from their profile silhouettes down to the ticking fabric pockets that were dyed by hand to achieve that perfect aged, vintage feel. Paired with the kraft brown envelope and vintage stamps…I SIMPLY ADORE this save the date and their amazing engagement photos taken by Arden Prucha of Arden Prucha Photography!
