Hot off the Press! Engagement Party Invitations
When Elizabeth approached me to design engagement party invitations for her and Ramon, I was super excited. They are such a delightful couple with amazing ideas….dream clients. A few days passed and Elizabeth called to let me know that her brother had decided to propose to his girlfriend so now they wanted to have a joint engagement party. FUN! Here is the catch: the proposal was a surprise and they wanted the party to be a surprise for her as well.
After much brainstorming, I decided the only way to pull this off was to tell a story through the invitation, causing people to want to read every word and really get a grasp of the “top secret” situation. We paired the invitation with Crane’s pearl white envelopes lined in black and used a headline news style format to tell the love story of each couple, giving guests an occasion to really look forward to!
In a, what I like to call “Pre-Jennifer”, miss guided attempt to create “cute” invitations for our engagement party, my mom and I bought some,… without a template. Digging the hole deeper, I am a horrible proof reader and had them all printed up with a major typo and totally off center.
In complete panic, I called Jennifer and within 24hrs she created this little gem to replace all that I had botched up! Not to mention, I had all the envelopes stamped and addressed already, and she was able to work with what I already had in making the invitations the same size to fit the envelopes and she even went out to pick up some more for us at the store!
As you can see, they are phenomenal and so much more than I could have ever thought of, and not to mention a HUGE hit … everyone raved about them. I will NEVER attempt to do anything creative on my own without consulting the ever so amazing Jennifer Claire & we’re thrilled that she is also doing our Save the Dates, Wedding Invitations, and any other paper product we will ever need … ever. again!
